The Dalmore has released the latest expression in its Distillery Select Series, a 14-year-old Highland single malt finished in Semisecco Marsala casks. The limited-edition whisky will go on general release on 31 August 2026, priced at £350, with just 1,110 bottles available.

The Distillery Select Series, which debuted in 2024, showcases small parcels of stock hand-selected from The Dalmore’s dunnage warehouses. For the 2026 edition, The Dalmore said its whisky makers aimed to select a spirit that revealed “a different dimension” of the distillery’s flavor profile while remaining rooted in the house style.

The whisky was matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. It was then finished for one year and nine months in Semisecco Marsala casks.

Semisecco Marsala is a medium-sweet Sicilian fortified wine. According to the brand, the casks add “sweetness, warmth, and depth,” contributing notes of candied citrus, honeyed fruit, roasted nuts, and gentle spice.

The single malt is bottled at 53.7% ABV, non-chill filtered and of natural color. According to the official notes from the brand, the aroma offers “floral overtones with sweet clementine, stoned fruits, honeyed malt, and a hint of grape must and spiced vanilla.” On the palate, the whisky reveals “candied orange peel, sweet pear, toffee, brioche, with subtle hints of walnuts, clove, and cinnamon.” The finish is described as “sweet citrus and rich oak, and a fading memory of festive spice.”

The Dalmore said the Series was created to give whisky enthusiasts “a closer view” of the distillery’s whisky-making credentials.

The range has previously only been available through The Dalmore’s boutiques, online or in selected countries. Following the reopening of The Dalmore’s Highland home in Alness earlier this year, guests who book an experience can now purchase the Series in person from the distillery boutique.

The whisky will also be available to purchase online, and members of The Dalmore Guild will receive the opportunity for advance purchase ahead of general sale on the 31st August.
