Tamdhu distillery will release two limited edition single malt whiskies at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, running from April 29 to May 4, 2026. The Speyside producer, known for maturing all of its whisky exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, will make both expressions available at its on-site shop on May 1 and 2, with online sales opening April 30 for members of its Dedication Society.

The first release is the Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask Special Limited Edition, bottled at 58.9% ABV. Just 345 individually numbered bottles will be available, priced at £175 for a 70cl bottle with gift box.

The second expression is Tamdhu Dalbeallie 09, bottled at 60.5% ABV and priced at £105 for a 70cl bottle. The release is limited to 1,000 numbered bottles. It is named after the restored Victorian train station on the Tamdhu estate, situated between the distillery and the River Spey. Dalbeallie whiskies are matured in hand-picked first-fill European oak sherry casks.

Historically, Dalbeallie Station received sherry casks arriving after a 2,000-mile journey from Jerez, Spain, to Speyside. The station closed half a century ago, but the casks it once welcomed have helped define Tamdhu’s character for nearly 130 years.

Iain Weir, Tamdhu brand director, said: “The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is always a highlight of the year for the Tamdhu team. We are excited to welcome special guests to our exclusive events at the elegantly restored Dalbeallie Station, just yards away from the distillery itself. Tamdhu is renowned for being the only whisky maker in Scotland dedicated to maturing every drop of our precious whisky in Oloroso sherry casks and our special releases this year showcase the excellence of the brand.”

Sandy McIntyre, distillery manager, added: “We are proud to be releasing two outstanding limited edition whiskies at the Speyside Festival this year. Both the Tamdhu Dalbeallie Dram Number 09 and the Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask are exceptional, and both will, I predict, be snapped up by connoisseurs of fine whiskies. They are examples of what we at Tamdhu do best.”

McIntyre continued: “I look forward to sitting down, with the team from the distillery, at the end of the Festival to enjoy a dram or two of The Team Single Cask to toast everyone’s hard work and savour the whisky and memories of what I hope is another successful year.”

Official tasting notes from the brand describe the Dalbeallie 09 as “smooth, honeyed and distinctive,” with chocolate, coffee walnut cake and toasted marshmallow on the nose, toffee and cranberries on the palate, and a long, sweet and spicy finish.

The Distillery Team Single Cask, distilled in 2013 from American oak sherry hogshead cask No. 2197, offers fresh raspberries, golden syrup and hazelnut on the nose, with berries and tropical fruits on the palate and a soft, long-lasting vanilla finish.

The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is one of Scotland’s largest annual whisky events, drawing thousands of visitors to the region each year.
