Shared Spirit, a new whisky festival designed to challenge the conventions of traditional spirits events, will debut on June 6, 2026, at St Mary’s Church in Primrose Hill, North London. The event brings together 21 whisky brands alongside music, food, art and creative programming in a format its organizers describe as "more summer fair than tasting room."
The festival positions itself as a culture-led gathering built for exploration, inclusion and modern whisky drinkers. It removes what organizers say is the hierarchy, gatekeeping and assumed knowledge often associated with whisky events.
Rather than centering expertise or exclusivity, the format focuses on flavor, conversation and connection. Attendees are encouraged to explore whisky at their own pace across two relaxed entry sessions.

READ THE STORYModeration and accessibility sit at the core of the event’s design. Small pours, food options, coffee, cocktails and beer are all intended to support a balanced and welcoming experience. Shared Spirit also works in partnership with organizations promoting safer, more inclusive drinks culture.
The confirmed brand list features a diverse international roster. Participants include Amrut, Bruichladdich, Bushmills, Nikka, Nc’nean Distillery, Penderyn, Ardnamurchan/Adelphi Distillers, Cooper King Distillery, Cotswolds Distillery, Dingle Distillery, East London Liquor Co, Singleton and Thomson, among others.
Sponsors for the inaugural edition include Fever-Tree, Bushmills and Urban Bar.
Brands taking part were selected not only for the quality of their whisky but for their values and willingness to engage directly with a wider audience. The programming reflects a broader shift within the whisky category toward openness, diversity and cultural relevance.
A portion of profits will be donated to Equal Measures, a UK-based nonprofit supporting equity and access in the drinks and hospitality sector through education and mentorship. The organization connects underrepresented talent with industry leaders, practical qualifications and career-building networks.
The launch arrives amid growing industry interest in events that broaden whisky’s appeal beyond its traditional demographic. Festivals such as the London Whisky Show and Whisky Live have long served established enthusiasts, but Shared Spirit appears to target a different audience entirely — curious newcomers and culturally engaged drinkers alongside trade professionals.
Tickets are on sale now at www.sharedspirit.live. The event is expected to attract a mix of whisky enthusiasts, first-time explorers and drinks industry professionals.
