Rosebank Whisky Stars in BBC Quiz Do You Know Your Place?

Rosebank Whisky Distillery, recently crowned the home of “The World’s Best Whisky,” has appeared on the new BBC2 primetime celebrity quiz show Do You Know Your Place?, hosted by Vernon Kay. The Falkirk-set episode featured the historic distillery alongside several local landmarks, with The Traitors star Paul Gorton filming on site at Rosebank.

The show travels to a different UK location each week, quizzing a studio panel on stories and trivia about each destination. The Falkirk episode is available on BBC iPlayer, with Rosebank appearing approximately 11 minutes into the program.

Liz Gunn, Rosebank’s Brand Home Head of Marketing and Sales, said: “We were thrilled when the producers chose to film part of the programme at Rosebank Distillery, and it was a pleasure to welcome the crew and The Traitors star Paul Gorton on site. It’s wonderful to see so many local attractions featured in this episode — a fantastic showcase for Falkirk.”

Gorton is in notable company. His Majesty the King and the First Minister of Scotland recently sampled the award-winning Rosebank 31 Year Old during the monarch’s visit to the Palace of Holyrood House in January.

The Rosebank 31 Year Old is bottled at 48.1% ABV and priced at $USD (£1,800) for a 70cl bottle. It forms part of the Rosebank Legacy Trilogy alongside a 30 Year Old and 32 Year Old, the final releases drawn from the distillery’s remaining pre-1993 casks.

To mark the recent accolade, the Rosebank team has launched a new experience called “Discover the World’s Best Whisky.” The tour includes a full guided visit followed by a tutored tasting of the 31 Year Old, a taste of Rosebank aged spirit from a cask filled since 2023, and a sample of Rosebank New Make Spirit.

Founded in Falkirk in 1840, Rosebank Distillery reopened to visitors in 2024 after a meticulous restoration. The brand home has welcomed more than 33,000 visitors from 38 countries since opening. Located on the canal in the heart of Falkirk, the venue has also attracted architectural awards.

During the episode, panelists Nitin Ganatra, Rev Kate Bottley, and Gladiator “Apollo” Alex Gray were asked which country consumes the most whisky globally. Ganatra correctly identified India, where nearly 50% of all the world’s whisky is consumed. Rev Kate Bottley won the Falkirk episode overall.

Vernon Kay said: “It’s a cracking new quiz that’s all about the people and places we know best. It’s got great banter, brilliant guests, and that classic British competitive streak.”
