Radico Khaitan Lands Rampur Whisky in UK Airport Duty Free

Radico Khaitan has become the first Indian spirits producer to list its brands across duty-free stores at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham airports. The rollout, announced on 28 September 2026, brings the company’s luxury portfolio to international travelers as part of its Global Travel Retail (GTR) expansion strategy.

The listing covers Rampur Indian Single Malt Double Cask, Rampur Asava, Rampur Barrel Blush and Sangam World Malt.

The move comes amid strong momentum in the producer’s premium and luxury range. Its Prestige & Above portfolio contributed 70.3% of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) value in FY26.

Abhishek Khaitan, managing director of Radico Khaitan, described the entry as a key moment for the business. “Our international ambition is not simply about increasing the number of airports in which we operate,” he said.

Khaitan added: “It is about building meaningful brand presence and ensuring that Indian spirits are experienced in the right environments, by consumers who appreciate provenance, craftsmanship and distinctive character.”

He continued: “This entry is an important milestone in our journey to take Indian luxury to the world. Global Travel Retail gives us the opportunity to connect with consumers from different parts of the world and showcase the depth, diversity and evolving quality of Indian spirits.”

The four airports together handled more than 170 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow, Europe’s busiest airport, recorded around 84.5 million passengers. Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham handled roughly 42.8 million, 32.1 million and 13.7 million, respectively.

Sanjeev Banga, president of international business, pointed to the symbolism of the launch. “There is a certain charm in taking Indian whisky to the home of Scotch whisky,” he said. “We are not asking the world to choose between Scotch and Indian whisky. We are simply making sure that Indian whisky gets a seat at the table, and perhaps a place on the airport shelf as well.”

Rampur Indian Single Malt is produced at the Rampur Distillery, which was established in 1943 in the Himalayan foothills.

The company currently operates across more than 65 duty-free locations and is targeting expansion to more than 100. Its FY26 net revenue stood at approximately ₹6,050 crore, with IMFL volumes up 22% to 38.3 million cases.
