Copperworks Distilling Co. has unveiled Pike Kilt Lifter Whiskey, a limited-edition collaboration with Pike Brewing Company available starting Black Friday, November 28. The American whiskey is distilled from an unhopped version of Pike’s Kilt Lifter scotch-style ale and matured for more than five years in new American oak casks.
“Copperworks Kilt Lifter Whiskey is more than a collaboration,” said Jason Parker, Pike Brewing’s first brewer and now Copperworks Distilling Co. president and co-founder. “It’s a story about the roots of Seattle’s craft beverage scene and the people who helped define it.”

The partnership connects two pivotal moments in Seattle’s craft beverage history. Pike Brewing Company tapped its first keg in Pike Place Market in 1989, helping launch the Northwest craft brewing movement.
Parker opened Copperworks Distilling Company nearly 25 years later with co-founder Micah Nutt, located just down the alley from Pike Brewing on the Seattle Waterfront.
The distillery was founded on the premise that distilling high-quality unhopped beer could produce world-class whiskey.
“We brewed the base for this whiskey using the same specifications as Pike does for their beer, and we even brewed it at Pike’s iconic gravity-fed 1st Avenue brewhouse,” said Parker. “After more than five years maturing in new American oak casks, we are proud to present Pike Kilt Lifter Whiskey. By transforming Pike’s Kilt Lifter into whiskey, Copperworks and Pike honor a legacy of innovation, friendship, and craft that spans more than three decades.”
The release consists of 1,800 bottles (700ml) at 50% ABV (100 proof), priced at $59.99 (+ tax & shipping)
Official tasting notes from the brand describe toasted pine and meadow flowers mingling with toffee and custard on the nose. The palate features baking spice and biscuit, steel-cut oats, rich dates, caramel sauce, and lemon oil.
Sweet cinnamon and malt lead to a finish with coffee cake, dried mango, stewed apple, and eucalyptus.
Pike Kilt Lifter Whiskey will be available online and at Copperworks’ tasting rooms in Seattle and Kenmore, Washington.
