Goa-based producer John Distilleries has announced the Paul John Christmas Edition 2025, the eighth installment in the brand’s annual limited-edition series. The unpeated Indian single malt was matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Cream Casks, with 6,254 bottles set for global release.

The whisky is bottled at an ABV of 48% and is presented without chill-filtration or added coloring.

This latest expression from the award-winning Indian producer continues a tradition of festive bottlings that have become highlights for collectors.

Paul John Whisky is crafted at the company’s distillery in Goa, India. The region’s tropical climate creates unique aging conditions, with higher temperatures and humidity accelerating the interaction between the spirit and the oak casks.

This environment results in a faster maturation process, often developing complex flavors that can take significantly longer to achieve in the cooler climates of traditional whisky-producing regions like Scotland or Ireland.

The distillery is a prominent force in the growing Indian single malt whisky category, which has earned significant international acclaim over the past decade.

According to the official notes from the brand, the 2025 edition has a deep amber color with glimmers of crimson gold.

On the nose, it offers ripe plum, dark cherry, candied orange peel, and orange blossom honey, with notes of soft toffee, cocoa, and nutmeg.

The palate delivers a balance of apple, stone fruits, caramel, roasted nuts, and tropical sweetness, enhanced by spiced rum, butterscotch, and dark caramel.

It concludes with a long, creamy finish, featuring tones of sweet oak, molasses, dried berries, and a subtle hint of Christmas cake.
