READ THE STORYNamed after Texas’ official state fish, Guadalupe Bass Straight Bourbon reflects the distillery’s approach to whiskey-making and conservation efforts.
“Whiskey is a living spirit, evolving over time in barrels, and climate plays a powerful role in shaping its flavor,” says Heather Greene, Milam & Greene Whiskey master blender and CEO.
“For Guadalupe Bass Straight Bourbon, we pushed the envelope by blending three barrels from the same lot, one of which spent less time aging in Texas. The result is a more layered and nuanced whiskey with added richness and complexity.”
Guadalupe Bass was distilled in Kentucky with 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley. Barrels aged in both Kentucky and Blanco, Texas. The official tasting notes for the new release describe aromas of cherry cordial, allspice, clove, and toffee. Flavors include dark cherry, dried apricot, vanilla, and crème brûlée. The finish features menthol, anise, and oak.
Wildlife Collection Benefits Texas Conservation
The bourbon launched exclusively on the Milam & Greene website and for distillery pick-up on October 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
A portion of the proceeds supports the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation. The foundation has raised over $240 million for conservation since 1991.
