The Macallan has unveiled TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask, a 20-year-old single malt Scotch whisky and the third chapter in its TIME : SPACE Collection. It is the first whisky influenced by casks seasoned with the brand’s own Valdespino sherry since the bodega came under The Macallan’s ownership.
The release also marks the first time Valdespino sherry has been used to season oak casks for The Macallan.
The whisky’s character is shaped by two distinct interactions with sherry-seasoned oak. After full maturation in a selection of predominantly European oak sherry-seasoned casks, the whisky was married in Valdespino-seasoned casks to elevate its flavor profile.

TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask began its journey on The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. It was then married in a selection of the first 200 casks seasoned in The Macallan’s Valdespino bodega in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
These casks were crafted in The Macallan’s cooperages in Jerez de la Frontera and shipped to Scotland for filling in 2024, during the brand’s 200th anniversary year.

The whisky is bottled at 44.8% ABV with natural color. It follows the 200th anniversary releases of TIME : SPACE and TIME : SPACE Mastery.
According to the official notes from the brand, the nose offers sherry-soaked raisins, figs and medjool dates, with dark chocolate truffles and warming spices. The palate reveals dried fruits, rich ginger cake, treacle toffee and chocolate-coated cherries, before espresso notes and gentle oak on the finish.
To coincide with the launch, The Macallan is unveiling Mastery Beyond Reason, a documentary narrated by photographer Steve McCurry and featuring sommelier Josep Roca.
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask carries an RRP of £1,100 (US$1,485). It will be available exclusively at The Macallan Boutique at Harrods from 17 September 2026, then more widely via themacallan.com and select UK retailers in October.
