Larrikin Bourbon Company has signed a distribution partnership with Soil Air Distribution to represent its spirits across New York and New Jersey. The agreement covers both Larrikin Bourbon and its sister brand Koala Bare Gin, bringing the company into two of the country’s largest beverage markets.

The deal marks another step in Larrikin’s US growth. Both brands will expand across independent retailers, bars and restaurants throughout the two states. The brand was founded by Australian-born U.S. Navy combat veteran Greg Keeley.

Larrikin Bourbon and Koala Bare Gin will target two of America’s most competitive on and off-trade markets.

“New York and New Jersey matter to us because these are markets where people know spirits and aren’t afraid to try something outside the usual playbook,” said Keeley, founder and master distiller of Larrikin Bourbon Company. “We’ve built Larrikin around bloody good whiskey, a strong point of view and doing things our own way. Soil Air understands that, and they know how to get independent brands in front of the right accounts.”

Based in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Larrikin Bourbon Company produces bourbon, rye whiskey and specialty releases. The company blends Kentucky whiskey tradition with the personality of its Australian roots. Lawrenceburg sits in the heart of Kentucky’s bourbon country, home to distilleries including Wild Turkey and Four Roses.

Koala Bare Gin applies the same approach to the gin category. It is crafted with native Australian botanicals and a deliberately softer juniper profile. The gin is designed to appeal to both traditional gin drinkers and consumers seeking something different.

For Soil Air Distribution, the partnership adds two independent spirits brands with distinctive identities.

“Larrikin and Koala Bare stand out immediately,” said Matt Sleeman, vice-president of Soil Air Distribution. “There is a strong story behind the brands, but more importantly, the liquid backs it up.”

Sleeman continued: “We believe both have real potential with retailers, bartenders and consumers across New York and New Jersey.”

The launch forms part of Larrikin Bourbon Company’s continued expansion of its wholesale footprint across the US. The company remains independently owned and distilled in Kentucky.
