India Bartender Show, the country’s only dedicated platform for the bar community, wrapped up its second annual edition on February 26 at Le Méridien Gurgaon. The two-day bar summit brought together 29 brands and more than 1,900 industry professionals — including bartenders, bar owners, beverage innovators, and global leaders — across five stages and 45 sessions.

The event featured speakers from 12 countries, covering topics ranging from flavor innovation and native spirits to artificial intelligence in hospitality and long-term team development.

International sessions included Freezing for Flavour with Iain McPherson of Panda & Sons and Omotenashi: The Japanese Hospitality Philosophy with Shuichi Nagatomo of Bar Oscar.

Indian industry leaders such as Gauri Devidayal, Avinash Kapoli, and Gresham Fernandes anchored conversations on the evolving role of women in hospitality leadership, business fundamentals, and bartender-owned establishments.

Programming was structured across five immersive zones. The Main Stage hosted global bar leaders exploring sustainability frameworks, flavor innovation, and the systems behind some of the world’s most respected bars. Workshops focused on spirits education, South Asian ingredients, tequila, feni, and emerging Indian liqueurs.

A Future Room stage examined fermentation, minerality, AI in bars, and the bartender’s evolving role within food systems. A Hindi-first stage called Baithak encouraged candid discussions on career transitions, competitions, and practical industry skills. A dedicated Beer, Wine & No-Lo zone spotlighted fortified wines, vermouths, shochu, tea-led beverages, and non-alcoholic bar programs.

Yangdup Lama, co-founder of India Bartender Show, said: “Having been a bartender myself, I’ve experienced first-hand how critical access to education and knowledge exchange is in shaping one’s journey. It’s incredibly heartening to see so many mentors come forward to lend their voices and offer mentorship, alongside ambitious, hungry bartenders eager to learn. It helps build careers and strengthens a community where talent can genuinely grow and thrive.”

Minakshi Singh, co-founder of India Bartender Show, said: “In our second year, we wanted to deep-dive into more serious conversations: what it really takes to build bars and teams, what a career path can look like, understanding P&Ls, adapting to change, AI in bars, and more. Hearing these perspectives from such a diversity of voices gives talent a much wider lens.”

Singh added: “Our intention has always been to create a shared space that encourages open dialogue between national and international communities, fostering mutual growth.”

Vikram Achanta, co-founder of India Bartender Show, said: “At India Bartender Show, it’s not just about knowledge sharing but equally about tasting, learning, and upskilling. It’s very rare to have so many exceptional brands under one roof. The platform gives bartenders direct access to new spirits, evolving programs, global standards, emerging trends, and, in parallel, a growing peer and global network.”

The summit was preceded by Beverage Week, a series of activations hosted across more than 75 bars in the National Capital Region. The week included guest shifts, workshops, and curated bar hops celebrating cross-city exchange and consumer engagement, culminating in the two-day summit.

India’s bar industry has undergone significant growth in recent years, driven by a rising cocktail culture, increased consumer interest in premium spirits, and a new generation of professionally trained bartenders. Events like the India Bartender Show reflect a broader trend across Asia-Pacific markets, where dedicated trade platforms are playing an increasingly important role in professionalizing the on-trade sector and connecting local talent with global best practices.
