Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has launched the 11th edition of its keenly anticipated Teapot Dram series. The limited release of 3,000 bottles, Teapot Dram Batch No. 011, became available on November 20, 2025, exclusively through the Glengoyne Distillery and its online shop.
The new expression is bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.7% ABV and is priced at £125 (~$164) for a 70cl bottle.
The Teapot Dram series honors an old distillery tradition from the ‘dramming days’ when workers received three measures of whisky throughout their shift.
At Glengoyne, these drams were always drawn from first-fill sherry casks.
Some younger workers would often pour their share into a copper teapot kept on a canteen windowsill for their older colleagues to enjoy.
While the practice of on-site drams for workers ceased in the 1970s, the story inspired the collectible limited edition bottling.
Robbie Hughes, Glengoyne distillery manager, oversaw the creation of Batch No. 011 to ensure it aligned with the historical tradition.
The whisky was matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks, including European oak sherry butts and hogsheads. It is presented at its natural color and is non-chill-filtered.
Glengoyne is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, whose portfolio also includes Tamdhu and Rosebank. The distillery is notable for its location straddling the Highland Line and for producing an unpeated, slow-distilled style of single malt.
The release taps into continued consumer demand for premium, cask-strength whiskies with compelling brand stories.
According to official notes from the brand, the nose has aromas of dates, dark chocolate, lemon meringue, grilled peach, toasted nuts, dry sherry, and a wisp of incense.
The palate is said to deliver flavors of cherries, strawberry ice cream, blackberry jam, gingerbread, fudge, hazelnut spread, and dried apricot.
The whisky concludes with a finish of maraschino liqueur, Eton mess, and summer berries.
