Glen Scotia Mini Malts Festival Coming to Luss Distillery

Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia will host a new two-day whisky festival at Luss Distillery on May 16–17, bringing a taste of its annual Campbeltown Malts Festival to a venue less than an hour from Glasgow.

The Glen Scotia Mini Malts Festival is designed as a smaller, more intimate counterpart to the distillery’s flagship Campbeltown event, which has become a fixture in the global whisky calendar.

The festival will take place at Luss Distillery, the newly opened spirits destination operated by Loch Lomond Group. The group owns Glen Scotia, Loch Lomond Whiskies, and Ben Lomond Gin.

The venue will be transformed to create a mini Campbeltown experience. A Glen Scotia pop-up bar will serve drams of this year’s Festival Edition bottling alongside a selection of exclusive single cask releases from recent Campbeltown Malts Festivals. Master Blender Ashley Smith personally selected these highly limited bottlings.

Two unique tasting sessions will anchor the program. The first, a “Deconstructed Campbeltown Malts Festival Release 2026,” will explore the individual components of the annual limited-edition festival release and its distinctive flavor profile.

The second session, the “Big Campbeltown Character Tasting,” will guide attendees through Glen Scotia’s flagship 12 Year Old expression. Official notes from the brand describe the whisky as featuring “characterful tropical fruit and coastal spray flavours” with a “distinctive oily texture.”

Smith said the event reflects the distillery’s roots. “Glen Scotia has established itself on the global stage, but while our whisky is full of big character and big ambitions, our home and our people remain at the heart of everything we do, so it felt only right to offer a wee taste of the Campbeltown Malts Festival in our new Loch Lomond brand home,” he said.

“Across the two days, attendees will have the chance to explore this year’s Campbeltown Malts Festival limited-edition whisky, meet our small team of big characters, and enjoy an exciting flavour of the main festival’s atmosphere,” Smith added.

Glen Scotia is one of only three surviving distilleries in Campbeltown, a region on Scotland’s Kintyre peninsula once home to more than 30 distilleries. The area holds its own official Scotch whisky region designation despite its small size.

Tickets for the Mini Malts Festival are available through the Luss Distillery website.
