Chivas Brothers and Midleton Very Rare Launch The Grand Whisky Tour This October

Chivas Brothers and Midleton Very Rare have unveiled an exclusive whisky experience that takes 10 guests on a private jet journey between Scotland and Ireland this October. The Grand Whisk(e)y Tour offers unprecedented access to four iconic distilleries with prices starting at £13,000 per person, or £24,300 per couple.

The Grand Whisk(e)y Tour Features Rare Access to Historic Distilleries

The five-day journey begins at Strathisla Distillery in Scotland’s Speyside region, where Master Blender Sandy Hyslop will guide guests through The Vault.

This private sanctuary houses some of Scotland’s rarest casks, many never released to the public. Hyslop, who has worked in the Scotch whisky industry for over 40 years, will conduct personalized tastings tailored to each guest’s preferences.

The Scottish portion includes visits to The Glenlivet Distillery and a private lunch at Ballindalloch Castle with Laird Guy McPherson-Grant.

Guests will stay at Linn House, Chivas Brothers’ luxury property in Speyside, for two nights.

The tour demonstrates the growing trend of ultra-premium spirits experiences.

Chivas Brothers Partners with Midleton for Cross-Border Experience

After two days in Scotland, guests board a private jet to Cork, Ireland, where they visit Midleton Distillery. The highlight includes a cask-side tasting of the final chapter of the Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection with Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. This 50-year-old single pot still whiskey is limited to 225 decanters worldwide.

“The Grand Whisk(e)y Tour is more than a tasting experience; it is a celebration of craftsmanship and connections, reserved for those who seek the truly unrepeatable,” according to a press release from Chivas Brothers.

The Irish segment includes accommodation at Castlemartyr Resort in County Cork, visits to the Irish Whiskey Academy, and a coopering demonstration with Midleton’s Master Cooper. The experience concludes with an exclusive dinner in Midleton’s historic Master Distillers’ cottage.

The tour package includes all accommodations, meals, whisky tastings, and transportation, including the private jet between countries.

This collaboration between Chivas Brothers and Irish Distillers marks a rare partnership between Scottish and Irish whisky producers. Both companies are owned by Pernod Ricard, the world’s second-largest wine and spirits seller.
