Chattanooga Whiskey Unveils Kola Infused Liqueur

Chattanooga Whiskey has announced the launch of its latest creation, the Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur, as part of its Experimental Single Batch series. This new offering marks a daring step for the Tennessee-based distillery, known for pushing boundaries in the whiskey world.

The Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur aims to capture the essence of classic Southern flavors while continuing the brand’s tradition of innovation.

What Is Chattanooga’s Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur?

The latest addition to their lineup is crafted by infusing a blend of four bourbon mash bills with kola nut and a variety of natural ingredients, including fresh citrus peel, sarsaparilla, and vanilla bean, for over a week.

Grant McCracken, founding distiller at Chattanooga Whiskey, pointed to Tennessee’s history with cola as an inspiration for the new bottling: “Before cola became a global phenomenon, it was brewed in apothecaries and soda fountains across the American South. But it was in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where cola truly fizzed to life: Chattanooga made cola portable, put it in a bottle, and turned it into a legacy. This Experimental Batch is a throwback to that time – when all-natural infusions (including those with real kola nut) were the norm.”

Chattanooga Whiskey’s Love Of Experimentation

Chattanooga Whiskey has built a reputation for its commitment to quality and innovation. Founded in 2011, the distillery has consistently explored new ways to enhance the bourbon experience. The Experimental Single Batch series has been a cornerstone of their efforts, allowing the brand to test creative expressions and engage with whiskey enthusiasts in unique ways.

The Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur represents the latest in a series of experimental releases that have seen Chattanooga Whiskey take bold risks.

The kola nut, central to this release, has historical significance as a traditional Southern ingredient, often used in beverages and culinary applications. By incorporating it into their bourbon liqueur, Chattanooga Whiskey aims to pay homage to this heritage while delivering a modern twist.

Grant McCracken continued: “Secret recipes. Secret ingredients. Secret methods. You could say the American cola-making tradition has always been something of a kitchen cabinet mystery. But the real secret to great cola, we’d argue, is using real ingredients and real whiskey. That’s what gives our distillers total control over the recipe and the infusion – and how it pops and fizzes into your memory.”

Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur: A New Taste Experience

The Kola Infused Bourbon Liqueur is designed to offer a novel tasting experience. According to the official tasting notes, the liqueur presents “aromas of sweet cola and vanilla, followed by a palate of rich spices and a smooth finish.” This blend of flavors is expected to appeal to both bourbon enthusiasts and those seeking something different.

The liqueur, bottled at 35% ABV, is available at the distillery and select retailers for $49.99.
