Chattanooga Whiskey have introduced Batch Alpha-1, a bourbon liqueur and sequel to its 2025 Intergalactic Comet Crusher. The product will launch June 24th at the company’s Experimental Distillery before reaching Chattanooga and Nashville-area stores in the following weeks.
The release follows the debut of Batch Alpha: Intergalactic Comet Crusher in June 2025, which sold out promptly. Batch Alpha-1 is made with the same 42 ingredients as the original, but the recipe has been reformulated.
The brand frames the launch around a narrative involving a crash-landed craft, a malfunctioning android, and a glowing green bottle discovered on the roof of its Experimental Distillery in 2015.

“Batch Alpha practically saved the world, but nobody even cared,” a company representative said. “Instead of having a parade, everyone started demanding full-frontal recipe disclosure – with no redactions.”
According to the release, the company plans to publish a cache of files documenting the development of Intergalactic Comet Crusher.
“In the spirit of transparency and unbearable guilt, we thought we’d wheel out our own dirty laundry before someone else beat us to the punch,” the representative said. “At the end of the day, we’d rather people be entertained by the true story of Intergalactic Comet Crusher than by our collective humiliation.”

READ THE STORYThe bourbon liqueur uses 100% whiskey and 100% whole ingredients, which the company said gives its distillers maximum control over the infusion.
Batch Alpha-1 will retail at $49.99 (£37) for a 750ml bottle. Limited quantities will also be available online at Seelbachs.com for shipping to select states in July.
The official tasting notes from the brand describe the liquid as “like having your brains smashed in by a bag of lemons dipped in 42 karat gold.”
Founded in 2011, Chattanooga Whiskey fought to change Tennessee law, winning the right to distill whiskey in Chattanooga for the first time in over a century.
The company later developed its Tennessee High Malt style and opened its Riverfront Distillery to scale up its most successful experimental recipes.
Chattanooga Whiskey was named Craft Producer of the Year for 2026 by Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky. The Experimental Distillery welcomes more than 50,000 visitors annually.
