Budweiser's 150th Anniversary Opening Day Donation in Houston

Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, in partnership with Budweiser and the Houston Astros, celebrated the 2026 baseball season’s Opening Day at Daikin Park with a $35,000 donation to the Folds of Honor Foundation. The event also served as a centerpiece for Budweiser’s 150th anniversary celebrations, tying the brand’s milestone to America’s pastime.

The donation was presented during Opening Day festivities on Monday, March 30, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting the families of fallen and disabled service members.

Fan experiences at the event included the Astros Opening Day Street Fest and appearances by the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales’ bald eagle, Lincoln. The eagle "took flight" from the Budweiser Brewhouse to home plate in front of thousands of fans.

"Opening Day in Houston is always special, but this year carries even more meaning as we celebrate 150 years of Budweiser and continue our support for Folds of Honor," said Camilo Rojas III, vice president of marketing at Silver Eagle Houston.

"We are proud to partner with the Houston Astros and Anheuser-Busch to create memorable experiences for fans while giving back to those who have sacrificed so much," Rojas added.

Founded in 1876, Budweiser is marking its 150th anniversary in 2026 with a yearlong "Made of America – For 150 Years" celebration. The campaign highlights the brand’s deep connection to American culture, sports, and tradition.

As part of the milestone, Budweiser has introduced limited-edition heritage cans inspired by iconic designs from the 1950s, 1980s, and 1990s. A commemorative 150th anniversary design has also been released.

Baseball has long occupied a central place in Budweiser’s marketing identity. The brand maintains sponsorship relationships with Major League Baseball and numerous individual franchises, making Opening Day activations a natural extension of its portfolio strategy.

Silver Eagle Houston, a Redwood Beverages Company, is one of the nation’s largest Anheuser-Busch distributors. The company continues to invest in the Houston community through partnerships, events, and charitable initiatives.

The Folds of Honor Foundation has awarded nearly 73,000 educational scholarships since its founding in 2007. The organization provides scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Budweiser’s 150th anniversary program is expected to include further activations across sports, music, and cultural events throughout 2026.
