Bardstown Bourbon Company has released Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey, a Kentucky-exclusive marriage of mature bourbon and rye inspired by rum maturation traditions. The whiskey goes on sale from July 24, 2026 for a suggested retail price of $139.99, with fewer than 350 nine-liter cases produced.

READ THE STORY

The release blends 10 and 11-year-old bourbons with 11-year-old rye that were subsequently married and matured in Caribbean-sourced pineapple rum casks.

The rum that previously filled those casks incorporates Victoria pineapples directly during maturation. Victoria pineapples are celebrated for their sweetness, aroma and historic connection to premium rum production in Barbados.

“The goal was never to make whiskey taste like pineapple,” said Dan Callaway, master blender at Lofted Spirits. “The goal was to understand what made these barrels so special in the first place. We followed that trail all the way back to the creation process and found our way to a whiskey with a bold, tropical fruit, surrounded by rye and allspice.”

The company aimed to honor the original rum-making process rather than simply use the barrels as finishing vessels. To achieve this, they matured the custom blend for 27 months. Fresh pineapple was then added to the barrels, mirroring the process behind the original rum.

“Finishing with staves gave us the balance that helped integrate the pineapple character without losing the depth and complexity of the whiskey itself,” added Callaway.

Bottled at 106 proof, the whiskey carries official tasting notes from the brand of bold tropical fruit, rye, spice and allspice on the opening. The palate offers pineapple, cherry and toasted oak, evolving into vanilla crème and toffee.

Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey is the first release from Bardstown Bourbon Company’s new Finishing Series. Each release in the new series will feature custom artwork. This year’s label was created by Louisville artist Margaret Archambault, who translated the whiskey’s flavor profile into an original work of art. Her work will also appear on this year’s national Discovery and Finishing releases later this summer.

The whiskey will be available exclusively in Kentucky, including at the Bardstown Bourbon Company distillery and its Louisville Tasting Room.

Based in Bardstown, Kentucky, the company describes itself as operating “the most modern, technically advanced whiskey distillery” on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The distillery has built its reputation on collaborative and transparent production, including a well-known collaborative distilling program that produces spirits for other brands.
