A decade after the originally planned launch date for the brand, Angel’s Envy has unveiled its first age-stated bourbon. The Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength limited-edition release marks a significant milestone for the Kentucky distillery, with only 24,480 bottles available nationwide.
Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength Debuts October 10
Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength will hit shelves on October 10, priced at $249.99 per 750ml bottle.
The release date holds special meaning for the brand, as founder Lincoln Henderson had originally planned to launch Angel’s Envy in October 2010 but delayed until the whiskey met his standards.
The new expression spent 10 years aging in new American oak and port wine barrels before being bottled at 122.6 proof. Master Distiller Owen Martin personally oversaw every stage of development for what the company calls one of its most robust releases to date.
“Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength represents more than just a decade of aging — it embodies the dedication, precision, and passion that our team pours into every bottle,” said Owen Martin, Master Distiller at Angel’s Envy. “I’m incredibly proud of how this expression pushes the boundaries of what we’ve achieved with our cask releases, using a deft touch to balance a refined port character at a bold cask strength. It’s a milestone that reflects both our journey and the artistry that goes into every step of crafting a whiskey worth savoring.”
Limited Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength Shows Port Influence
The official tasting notes describe aromas of sweet cinnamon toast and creamy fruit nougat layered over candied nuts. The palate reveals baklava flavors, followed by ripe apricot, crème brûlée, and cognac with hints of grains of paradise. The finish delivers rum raisin cake notes, showcasing the port barrel influence.
The limited release will be available at select U.S. retailers and the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. A small number of bottles will also be sold through the distillery’s website.
This marks Angel’s Envy’s first age-stated release since the distillery began operations. The 10-year aging process combines traditional bourbon maturation in new American oak with additional finishing in port wine barrels, a signature technique for the brand.
With fewer than 25,000 bottles produced, the expression represents a rare opportunity for collectors and bourbon enthusiasts to acquire a piece of Angel’s Envy history.
