Angel’s Envy debuts first age-stated release with 10-year cask strength bourbon

Angel’s Envy unveiled its first age-stated expression, Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength, at The Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York City on Wednesday, October 8.

The Louisville-based bourbon brand’s new release marks a decade of aging in new American oak and port wine barrels. Master Distiller Owen Martin led guests through a tasting journey featuring archival pours from past cask strength editions.

The bourbon is bottled at 122.6 proof with 24,480 bottles available nationwide, at the Louisville distillery, and online at angelsenvy.com.

“Cask 10 Strength stands as a bold evolution of Angel’s Envy’s award-winning portfolio, capturing a decade of craftsmanship in every sip,” according to the brand.

Martin noted the release’s timing coincides with October, the month the brand originally planned to launch in 2010 before founder Lincoln Henderson delayed to meet his standards.

The evening featured a ceremonial first toast at 10:10 PM.

Signature cocktails included the Ten Out of Ten, featuring the new cask strength whiskey with 10-year tawny port and Martini & Rossi Rubino sweet vermouth, and the Envy Up Top with Angel’s Envy bourbon, chilled ruby port, lemon juice, and egg white.

Official tasting notes from the brand describe layers of cinnamon, creamy fruit nougat, and spice.
