The Total Eclipse Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a balanced four-grain bourbon aged for a minimum of two years. Made from locally sourced corn, wheat, rye, and barley (mash bill: 75% corn, 10% wheat, 10% rye, 5% malted barley), it offers a “semi-sweet body of orange zest, toasted oak, and a pecan nut finish”.

In addition to the bourbon, Casey Jones Distillery is also re-releasing its sold-out Total Eclipse Moonshine which was inspired by a Prohibition-era family recipe of corn and cane in equal quantities.

The Casey Jones Total Eclipse Moonshine was a smash hit when it was released in 2017, coinciding with another solar eclipse.

Casey Jones Distillery will host a gathering on April 8th, where bourbon and astronomy lovers can enjoy signature cocktails while witnessing the solar eclipse.

High West Bottled In Bond Rye Whiskey

High West, a Utah-based distillery renowned for its creative blending, has unveiled its first Bottled in Bond rye whiskey. The new offering marks a significant milestone in the company’s history, as it spotlights High West’s own distillate nearly two decades after its founding.

The High West Bottled in Bond Rye was crafted by distilling manager Isaac Winter. It was distilled entirely from a hybrid strain of rye named Guittino —20% malted and 80% unmalted. The whiskey was distilled at the Wanship distillery in 2018 and was bottled in December 2023.

Winter describes the flavor profile of the Bottled in Bond as more cereal-forward than High West’s usual house style for rye, which tends to be more herbaceous and spicy. This rye whiskey also has floral characteristics and a waxy finish.

Priced at $80, the Bottled in Bond is currently available nationwide, with a large portion available at the High West Saloon in Park City, Utah. High West plans to make this expression a yearly offering with wider availability in the future.
