In a celebratory move that has caught the attention of whiskey connoisseurs worldwide, Midleton Very Rare has just unveiled its latest one-of-one offering.
The Irish whiskey maker is marking its 40th anniversary with the release of an exclusive whiskey, the Midleton Very Rare 40th Anniversary Ruby Edition, available via NFT.The Ruby Edition is the culmination of years of meticulous work by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman and his team.
The Ruby Edition is a blend of single grain and single pot still Irish whiskeys that have been matured for up to 40 years. As Midleton celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024, the whiskey spans the lifetime of the brand. The whiskey was aptly finished in a ruby port cask before being bottled at 53.1% ABV.
The presentation of the Ruby Edition is as impressive as the whiskey itself. The bottle is hand-blown and features an 18ct gold collar encrusted with 32 rubies.
In Collaboration With Keanes Jewellers
The rubies hail from Keanes Jewellers in Cork, one of the most respected jewellers in Ireland. A certificate of authenticity for the gemstones will accompany the bottle.

The Midleton Very Rare 40th Anniversary Ruby Edition will be sold via NFT (non-fungible token) via Blockbar, an NFT auction site. The reserve will be set at $60,000 (£47,500). Bidding commenced at 12pm GMT on 28th February and will end at 3pm on 7th March. A portion of the sale price will be donated to the Forest Genetics Resources Trust, a charity that supports the conservation of various tree species in Ireland.

In addition to the one-off NFT bottling, a very limited number of Midleton Very Rare 40th Anniversary Ruby Edition bottlings (without the rubies, and without an NFT sale) will be made available.
