Moonshine brand Ole Smoky saw more than 5.3 million visitors to its Tennessee distilleries, more than any other in the world in 2022.
In a statement from the spirits maker, it was noted that their on-premise traffic counters recorded more visitors last year than all of Scotland’s 140 distilleries and nearly double those that visited the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Spread over several properties, Ole Smoky’s The Holler in Gatlinburg welcomed 2.3 million visitors, The Barrelhouse in Gatlinburg saw 1.1 million visitors, Pigeon Forge’s distillery The Barn had 1.2 million visitors, and Nashville’s 6th & Peabody had 700,000 visitors in 2022.

Ole Smoky describes itself as one of the leading craft distillers in the U.S. and the top selling moonshine brand in the world. In 2022, the distilleries showed off new flavors like Orange Shinesicle, Key Lime Cream and Blueberry Lavender. They have some aged whiskey products as well.
Officials with Ole Smoky attribute their success to the lively atmosphere, the employees, and exciting events put on at the distilleries. Last year, Ole Smoky hosted its first annual Shine Fest at its Nashville distillery location, bringing folks together to celebrate National Moonshine Day.
Each Ole Smoky distillery location includes working stills and fermentation tanks and a visitor experience that includes self-guided tours, moonshine and whiskey tastings, live music, and retail shops.
