Booker’s Bourbon Bluegill Creek Is 128 Proof Of Fishing Buddy Fun

Booker's Bourbon Bluegill CreekWhen you think about how the different batches of Booker’s Bourbon are chosen, there’s pretty much always an interesting Kentucky-esque story behind each one. Such is the case with the latest, Booker’s Bourbon Bluegill Creek, as it is a tale of fishing and drinking and time spent with Dad, who just happened to be Booker Noe himself.

As the story goes from Beam Suntory,

it was a hot, humid summer day when 7th Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe selected this batch, reminding him of the days he spent on the water with his father, Booker Noe, fishing. Booker was known for his love of fishing for bluegill, and he passed on the tradition to his son and grandson. If Booker were here today, you’d be able to find him down by the creek with a glass of this batch in one hand and a fishing rod in the other.

With this particular batch Noe chose a bourbon that’s a hefty 128 proof and aged for almost 6-1/2 years. It came from barrels located in four different warehouses and five different production dates, resulting in a bottling that is available this month in limited numbers for around $60 per 750 ml bottle.

“I know Dad would enjoy ‘Bluegill Creek’ for its signature flavors of robust vanilla true to every Booker’s batch,” noted Fred Noe, master distiller at Beam, in a prepared statement. “If he were here today, he’d sit down by the water with a glass of this bourbon in one hand and a fishing pole in the other.”

Cask Fraud Addressed in Scottish Parliament

The potential impacts of cask investment fraud on the scotch whisky industry was discussed in the Scottish Parliament in April 2024, hopefully paving the way for more regulation within the industry.
