The James B. Beam Distilling Co. is opening its rackhouses to consumers for the first time through its new Beam Private Barrel Club program, marking a significant shift in the company’s 229-year history.
Selection Experience
Eighth-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe emphasizes the program’s significance. “The Beam Private Barrel Club is something we’ve been working on for years– even decades now,” says Noe. “As we celebrate the 230th year of Jacob Beam selling his first barrel, we want to commemorate this milestone by further welcoming whiskey lovers into our family.”
Members receive a private, curated tour of the campus, including exclusive access to the Fred B. Noe Distillery, where they learn about the family’s production practices spanning eight generations. The experience culminates in the rackhouses, where participants taste and select their unique barrel.

The experience accommodates groups of up to eight people, with bottle prices starting at $59.99. Each barrel typically yields between 100-175 bottles, and members must purchase the entire barrel’s output from the American Outpost.
A non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required at booking, which applies to the final barrel cost. The bottling process takes 90-120 days, and members can personalize their bottles with up to 41 characters on custom labels.
The Complete Experience
Beyond barrel selection, the program includes a special lunch at The Kitchen Table restaurant, the distillery’s on-campus dining venue inspired by the original Beam family kitchen table. Throughout the process, members work with a dedicated Legacy Ambassador who guides them from selection through final bottling.
The launch of this program represents a significant evolution in consumer engagement for the world’s number one bourbon producer, offering whiskey enthusiasts an unprecedented opportunity to participate in the centuries-old tradition of barrel selection.
