Woodford Reserve To Release Double Double Oaked In A National Sweepstakes

Woodford Reserve is set to release its Double Double Oaked Bourbon, and this year, whiskey enthusiasts can win the opportunity to purchase a bottle.

This is the first time Woodford Reserve has offered a national sweepstakes for one of its most sought-after bourbons.

“Double Double Oaked has such a cult following, which makes it very difficult for consumers to get their hands on it,” said Master Distiller Chris Morris in a prepared statement. “These sweepstakes will allow more of our fans to have the chance to try this special release.”

Consumers who win the sweepstakes will be able to buy a bottle of Double Double Oaked from Woodford Reserve’s distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. And they can enter the sweepstakes now through Feb. 8th, and winners will be chosen at random and notified by Feb. 10th.

Winners will be able to buy their bottle in person from the distillery before April 10th.

You can enter the sweepstakes here.

Double Double Oaked also became available at the distillery on Feb. 1st. Assuming there are any left, customers can buy up to two 375ml bottles. Due to COVID restrictions, the distillery is reducing the number of guests inside the gift shop and face masks are required.

Double Double Oaked will be available in limited quantities at select Kentucky retailers as well.

The whiskey is the result of finishing fully matured Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel.

The extra year in the barrel creates a bourbon that is said to be distinctly spicier than its original counterpart, which is known for its sweeter taste and finish, Morris said.

Double Double Oaked is 90.4 proof with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 375ml bottle.
