Tullibardine Adds A New 15 Year Old Scotch Single Malt

Scotland’s Tullibardine distillery, located in the Highlands region, is a relatively young Scotch distillery, having opened in 1949. It was mothballed in the mid-1990s, later to be reopened in 2003. Fast forward to now and a number of whiskies are produced here, the latest of which is a new 15 year old.

The new Tullibardine 15 Year Old single malt whisky, according to those behind it, was distilled after the distillery’s reopening and aged in first fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

“It is a joy to introduce the 15-Year-Old to the world,” said Keith Geddes, master distiller at Tullibardine Distillery, in a prepared statement. “This whisky really is something special with an abundance of beguiling flavours that sync perfectly together.

“It’s a remarkable whisky that has been carefully crafted by our incredible, passionate team at our distillery nestled at the gateway of the Highlands. The whisky has a sweet and warm character that fills the senses with nostalgic aromas.”

Official tasting notes from the distillery’s website for the Tullibardine 15 Year Old indicate that, on the nose, there is “delicate dried hay and parma violets, with touches of baked apple, cloves and vanilla ice-cream. Notes of freshly baked scones with hints of strawberry jam and clotted cream, marry with delicate spices. With a finish of subtle nuttiness, this whisky is pleasantly nostalgic of summer days gone by.”
