Strathspey Reserve 21 Yr Old Scotch A Unique Micro Batch Experience

1779068_614186111970287_1808099755_nDuty free stores in European airports, particularly in the United Kingdom, are often the place to score on rare Scotch releases. Such is the case with a recently announced 21-year-old blend from William Grant & Sons that is unique for the fact that it is actually a series of micro batches which vary in flavor profile depending upon which World of Whiskies store you purchase it from.

The Strathspey Reserve 21-year-old offering is said to be an exclusive blend of rare cask reserves that was created using a combination of aged whiskies from the Grant family’s private collections. From these, William Grant & Sons master blender Brian Kinsman created the range of 11 small batches of blends.

These varied offerings are being made available at the World Duty Free Group’s World of Whiskies U.K. locations in London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester Airport, Newcastle Airport, Edinburgh Airport, Glasgow Airport and Aberdeen Airport, as well as at Cancún and Madrid airports.

Batch size will vary from location to location, with the Aberdeen offering, for example, being limited to just 60 bottles. Tasting notes for most of the bottlings, which will price for over $160 each, can be found here.
