Lowland single malt maker Rosebank Distillery is releasing a 30-year single malt whisky, one that’s created exclusively for the Asian market.
A statement from the unshuttered distillery noted that this expression will be extremely limited, only 300 bottles set to release in Taiwan and 800 bottles total in Asia.
In fact, for the past two years, Rosebank has launched extremely rare vintage expressions drawn from casks that were salvaged before the original distillery was shuttered.
The history of Rosebank was interrupted when the gates of the distillery closed in 1993. When it was unshuttered earlier in 2023, Rosebank produced its first batch of newly-distilled whisky in more than 30 years, and matured it in oak barrels.
And to mark that pivotal moment in the history of Rosebank, and to celebrate the beginning of the new chapter of the Rosebank era, the distillery launched the Revival Series.
The distillery announced that the Series will see six expressions in the coming years.
This “Chapter One,” a 30-year single malt whisky created exclusively for the Asian market, kicks it off this August.
The whisky itself, a Lowland single malt with a signature gold color, features a combination of the floral aroma from the classic triple distillation and the richness from the traditional worm tub condensers.

The distiller’s notes show that on the nose, it has floral notes and aromas of melted cream and nutmeg, with the aroma of French fudge and mint. On the palate, it’s lively with notes of flowers and berries. The finish is zesty with lemon peel and a sea of flowers.
Rosebank’s Chapter One in The Revival Series clocks in at 49% ABV, and has a suggested price of 86,000NTD, about $2,709USD, for a 700ml bottle.
