Glengoyne Releases Its New Cask Strength Batch No. 10

Scotland’s Glengoyne Distillery recently announced the latest in its Cask Strength series, Batch No. 010. The new expression marks a decade of limited annual releases in the series.

A statement from the makers at Glengoyne noted that this series of whisky is known for being a sweet, fruity spirit, and that Batch No. 010 comes bottled at cask strength.

This whisky batch is matured in a combination of American and European oak, made up of first-fill Oloroso Sherry, bourbon, and refill casks.

The distiller’s notes show that on the nose, Batch No. 10 features aromas of apple and blackberries, with pink peppercorn, toasted almonds, and a hint of dried coconut. On the palate, there are notes of vanilla custard, crème brulee, and baked pears with lemon peel. It finishes with honey and citrus.

Batch No. 010 clocks in at 59.2% ABV.

Katy Muggeridge, brand director at Ian Macleod Distillers, said that each of the 10 iterations in the Cask Strength series showcased the Glengoyne signature style of rich, sweet, and fruity.

“Batch No. 010 is no exception,” she added. “Boasting notes of apple, berries, pink peppercorn and creme brulee. It’s a fitting dram to mark one decade of the series and we’re delighted to see it already picking up accolades.”

Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 10 has a suggested retail price of £85 and is available at liquor stores globally, at the Glengoyne Distillery, and on their website at www.glengoyne.com.
