A lot of experiences can happen over a quarter of a century, including the aging of fine whiskey. The Glengoyne distillery, which in February released an old single cask expression, is once again going into older stock for a 25 year bottling that was matured exclusively in European oak sherry casks.
The new Glengoyne 25 Year Old is said to be presented in a new heavy bespoke bottle and outer box. The bottle features a metal stopper, crafted cartouche and branded neck tag and is displayed in an oak box interior, which includes an engraved plinth. It was bottled at 48% ABV and prices for around $420.
Tasting notes for this non-chill filtered whisky, colored bright amber, are below. It joins the core collection this distillery offers, which includes 10, 12, 15, 18, 21 Year Old and Cask Strength malts.
Nose: Red fruits, old leather and brown sugar
