Chivas Regal The Icon, according to Pernod Ricard, is a blend of some of the rarest and oldest whiskies available to the brand, including from distilleries which have shuttered. Though not all the whiskies were mentioned of the over 20 which make up this 40% ABV offering, it was said they include spirits from “Strathisla, Longmorn and Glen Keith.”
Part of what makes this whisky a luxury item, in addition to the rare Scotch contained within, is the bottle itself. It takes the form of a hand blown decanter that’s crafted by one Dartington Crystal. The glass of each bottle “is etched with careful precision before being dressed with finely crafted metalwork” and then topped with “a luckenbooth stopper, a traditional Celtic symbol of love.”
Now should you want to get a hold of one or more of the first run of these bottles, The Icon will initially only be available in Dubai Duty Free starting later this month. It will go more global come September, pricing a rather staggering $3,500 each.
