The Knockdhu distillery in Scotland’s Speyside region, which recently released a fashion-focused whisky known as Blas, is already back with a new release that is over 15 years of age. The anCnoc 2001 Vintage is set to be a limited release of just 1,000 cases globally.

anCnoc 2001 Vintage, according to the distillery, was bottled at 46% ABV after being “matured in hand selected Spanish and American oak casks” in “traditional dunnage houses” at the distillery. It is both non-chill filtered and of natural color. Those behind this brand say this whisky “may develop a light haze with the addition of water or if kept at a cold temperature” as a result.

“Like all anCnoc bottlings, fans will be able to detect the unmistakable Knockdhu style in every drop of this spirit, but in particular it’s the complex depth of flavour of the 2001 that we’re really proud of,” said Stephanie Allison, anCnoc brand manager, in a statement.

Plans call for the new Scotch from the Aberdeenshire based anCnoc to be released next month for a price of around £55, or about $80 USD. Official tasting notes from the distillery for the whisky are below for your consideration.

Color: Vintage gold

Nose: Brimming with freshly squeezed lemons and ripe blood oranges. Creamy vanilla, ground spices and a touch of new leather follow.

Taste: A hint of set lime honey, vanilla and a distinct chocolate presence. The finish drifts off slowly with a zesty freshness.
