Teeling recently launched the fifth and final expression in its Renaissance Single Malt Series, an 18-year-old Irish single malt aged in ex-bourbon barrels for more than 12 years before being finished in ex-Calvados casks for another six years.
The Renaissance series launched in 2019 and they’ve all been 18 year old single malt whiskeys, all bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered. The different finishes in the series include Madeira, Australian Shiraz, Muscat, Pineau des Charentes and now the Calvados.
For Teeling, the Renaissance Series has collected more than 350 international awards over the last nine years, including the title of “World’s Best Single Malt” at the 2019 World Whiskies Awards and four “World’s Best Irish Whiskey” honors at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.

This fifth and final bottling of The Renaissance Series consists of a dual maturation and, in particular, long finishing time in the Calvados casks, which the distiller’s notes show imparts a depth of cinnamon and caramelized apple character, with dried cherries and woody tannin notes.
This run is limited to 9,000 bottles. It has a suggested retail price of €140.
Jack Teeling, founder and managing director, said in a prepared statement, “Like all good things, the Renaissance Series must come to an end. These limited edition Teeling Whiskeys really lived up to their name, as they have been enjoyed and celebrated all over the world including winning some of the top honors for Irish whiskey at International Spirits Competitions over the last few years.”
He said for the final release, they hand selected some of their best 18-Year-Old Single Malt to make sure they end the series on a high note.
“We can end this series knowing that the Renaissance of Dublin as the epicenter for world-class, city based whiskey distillation is now firmly re-established with our Dublin distilled Irish whiskey now being celebrated and enjoyed around the world,” he said.
Bottled in a uniquely tall decanter, the Renaissance 18-Year-Old Single Malt will be available throughout Ireland and coming soon to international markets such as the Belgium, UK, Holland, France, Denmark, Italy, and select Asian markets.
