Rare Sláinte Irish Whiskey A Chance To Give Back For Causes In Ukraine

You can pick up a rare bottle of Irish whiskey and give back to an important cause, as a recent bottling from Sláinte Whiskey will do just that.

All the sale proceeds from the rare, 18-year-old Irish whiskey will go directly to support those suffering from the crisis in the Ukraine.

In fact, it’s a partnership with actor Liev Schreiber and BlueCheck Ukraine, with the support of the Irish ambassador to the United States, Daniel Mulhall.

A statement from Sláinte notes that this whiskey was sourced from Ireland, where it was distilled in 2004. It was bottled in Ireland as well, at cask strength, and is available at a minimum price of $499 per bottle.

All sales of the special edition will be allocated in order of interest received by registering online. Shipping will be available later in the month of August.

Once you register, you will receive an email letting you know where you can buy the limited edition Sláinte whiskey. Only 280 bottles of the 18-year-old will be available, and they will sell first come, first served.

And the whiskey makers at Sláinte noted that even if you’re not buying a bottle, you can donate directly to BlueCheck Ukraine, which identifies, vets, and fast-tracks urgent financial support to Ukrainian NGOs and aid initiatives providing life-saving and other critical humanitarian work on the front lines of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

“As the news cycle continues to swirl, let’s bear in mind those that need us most and the organizations on the ground who are caring for them,” said Schreiber, co-founder of Sláinte. “I was so impressed by the resilience and courage of the people I met in Ukraine who were giving themselves completely to care for others. The challenge for me is sustainability … keeping everyone interested, keeping this in the headlines, and keeping people aware of what’s going on. Because I do believe they’re going to win, but they need support, they need our help.”

Schreiber said that the resilience, determination, and generosity he witnessed deeply moved him and those viewing his journey from abroad. He said it’s “inspiring” to meet community leaders who help him to realize “our truly infinite potential.”

At one point, he was “arm deep in borscht” prepared for refugees in Poland, and he said he saw the strength of support the Ukrainian people can count on from the international community.

BlueCheck was launched in March of 2022 and is a collective of humanitarian crisis response experts, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers with decades of experience addressing the needs of conflict-affected populations and documenting solidarity movements countering oppression.
