Woodford Reserve’s 2020 Batch Proof Bourbon Pops At 123.6 Proof

Kentucky distillery Woodford Reserve, as part of its annual Master’s Collection, has debuted in 2018 and 2019 a “batch proof” version of its bourbon designed for those who want to try this whiskey at a higher ABV. The tradition continues again for 2020.

The Woodford Reserve Batch Proof (2020), according to those behind it, clocks in this year at 123.6 proof, which is just a tiny bit above last year’s expression of 123.2 proof. It is said to be a celebration of “Woodford Reserve’s proprietary batching process – blending barrels and bottling the whiskey at its actual proof, straight from the barrel.” This American whiskey is otherwise crafted using the same grain bill and process as Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

“Most do not get to experience Woodford Reserve at such a high proof presentation, so we are excited to have the opportunity to share this special bourbon with connoisseurs,” said Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris. “The intensity and depth of flavor found in Woodford Reserve Batch proof is truly remarkable.”
