Newest Eastbank Spirits Offering A Blended Bourbon Finished In Port Casks

Eastbank Spirits out of Detroit recently launched Drexel Double Vault, a new small-batch, barrel proof straight bourbon whiskey finished in port barrels.

Double Vault, according to those behind it, features what’s described as “an exclusive blend of two carefully selected high-rye and wheated straight bourbon whiskeys.” Finished in port barrels, official tasting notes make mention of caramel, vanilla, oak, spice, and ripe fruit that can be found on the palate. Batch number one clocks in at 122.8 proof.

Secondary maturation, the distillery noted, takes place for roughly six to twelve months, depending on the particular blend and the barrel.

“Double Vault is our most exclusive and sophisticated expression yet,” Founder and Head Blender Lance Havelka said in a prepared statement. “It allows us to tap into our oldest and rarest stocks while showcasing our blending prowess in general.”

Besides several whiskeys, Eastbank also makes gin and vodka.
