Knob Creek’s 15 Year Old Bourbon Gets Another Retail Release

Jim Beam’s Knob Creek whiskey brand recently announced the 2021 return of its limited-edition Knob Creek 15 Year Old.

Originally released in 2020, this liquid, it is said, seeks to elevate Booker Noe’s vision to recreate the fullest flavor characteristics of pre-prohibition style bourbon.

A prepared statement from Knob Creek said that to deliver this product bottled at 100 proof, barrels were pulled from prime locations within Knob Creek’s Kentucky warehouses that cater to advanced aging, essential to the decade and a half maturation process.

This extended journey of more than 15 years allows for the bourbon to mature in such a way that highlights the flavors of caramel and toffee, paired with toasted oak and light leather, all while maintaining the Knob Creek flavor.

Knob Creek started with the introduction of its Straight Rye Whiskey in 2012. In recent years, Knob Creek expanded its rye portfolio with a Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey (115 proof), a limited Cask Strength Rye (119.6 proof) and Knob Creek’s Twice Barreled Rye (100 proof).

In 2020, Knob Creek expanded its bourbon line with a 12 Year Old Bourbon (100 proof) and the 15 Year Old Bourbon (100 proof).

Knob Creek 15 Year Old Bourbon is available nationwide at a suggested retail price of $99.99 for a 750ml bottle.

Distiller’s notes show that the gold and bronze hued liquid features aromas of caramelized oak followed by hints of sweet vanilla, ripened fruit and baking spices. On the palate, it offers caramel and toffee paired with toasted oak and light leather, and finishes with warming spices and a touch of floral and cherry
