Baker’s Bourbon Offers Selection Of New “Extra Aged” Single Barrel Bourbons

Baker’s Bourbon, one of the premium American whiskey labels produced at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, has a new variant under its wing drawn from what’s said to be rarer barrels. It is tied to a new program known as Baker’s Exclusive Selection.

The new Baker’s Exclusive Selection, according to those behind it, is “extra aged” for 11 years and 8 months. It is said the “extra time in the barrel along with the changing seasons allows for even more distinct notes and layers of flavor to emerge from each individual barrel.” The bourbon is being positioned as a “unique holiday gift” for bourbon fans.

Baker’s Bourbon, for those unfamiliar with it, was created in 1992 by Sixth Generation Beam Master Distiller Booker Noe as part of the original Small Batch Bourbon Collection. Baker’s Bourbon is named after Baker Beam – grand-nephew of Jim Beam and a tenured distiller who worked at the Jim Beam Distillery for 38 years. Baker’s Bourbon began a new era as an exclusively single barrel bourbon in 2019, becoming, the brand noted, “as uniquely positioned among the James B. Beam Distilling Co. portfolio as its namesake Baker Beam is in the Beam family.”

Plans call for this limited edition whiskey to be available at select retailers nationwide, pricing around $100 per 750 ml bottle. With regards to tasting notes, it is said that “while every bottle of Baker’s Bourbon offers a unique tasting journey, you can expect a few defining characteristics from the Baker’s Exclusive Selection bottles.”
