O’Shaughnessy Distilling Co. Debuts A Cask Strength Whiskey

O’Shaughnessy Distilling Co., based out of Minnesota and helped by Brian Nation, former master distiller for brands like Jameson, Redbreast and Midleton, has debuted a cask strength variant of its inaugural whiskey.

The new Keeper’s Heart Irish + American 110 Proof, according to those behind it, combines what’s described as “the delicate sweetness of Irish grain and richness of Irish Pot Still with the spice of American Rye at a proof that serious whiskey fans will appreciate.”

Breaking down the individual components, the triple distilled pot still whiskey is malted & unmalted barley from Ireland that’s been aged for over four years in refill American bourbon barrels. The grain whiskey is maize/malt, again from Ireland and aged over four years in refill American bourbon barrels. Finally, the rye whiskey, which is an American 95% rye, is aged over four years in virgin American oak barrels.
