One of Kentucky’s newest distilleries, Log Still Distillery, recently released a new line of Tennessee whiskeys.
The new expressions go by the name Rattle & Snap, a forgotten game of chance in the South. Rattle & Snap 4-Year and 8-year Tennessee Select Straight Whiskey will each be available at select retailers in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
“Rattle & Snap is a whiskey for those who make their own luck,” said Wally Dant, Log Still Distillery’s founder, in a prepared statement. “Our distillery was built on historic distillery grounds. It was risky to go into this business back then. As our own distillery continues to grow, we draw inspiration from those previous distillers, the original risk-takers, every day.”
The 4-Year retails for $37.99, and Rattle & Snap 8-Year will sell for $99.99.
Rattle & Snap distiller’s notes:
- Rattle & Snap 4-Year Tennessee Select Straight Whiskey: A classic sour mash aged a little more than four years, with notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and spice leading to a long, sweet finish. It clocks in at 47% ABV, 94 proof.
- Rattle & Snap 8-Year Tennessee Select Straight Whiskey: A strong but well-balanced whiskey from start to finish with notes of sweet maple, banana, and a kick of cinnamon spice. It, too, clocks in at 47% ABV, 94 proof.
Log Still Distillery brought their style of whiskey to Gethsemane, Kentucky when Wally Dant and cousins Lynne and Charles Dant re-built on old family distillery land to create a unique bourbon and family destination.
The brands portfolio includes the Monk’s Road line of Kentucky bourbons and gins and Rattle & Snap line of Tennessee whiskeys.
