Few Spirits, an Illinois grain-to-glass distillery since 2011, last year debuted a bottled-in-bond bourbon. Now, in a supplement to this, they recently unveiled a bottled-in-bond rye.
The new Few Rye Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond, according to those behind it, is a four year old, limited release bottling created in accordance with the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897. Sporting a mash bill of 70% rye, 20% corn and 10% malted barley, it was aged in new, charred American oak barrels and bottled at 100 proof.
“Few Rye Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond continues our celebration of the Bottled-In-Bond Act,” said Few Spirits founder Paul Hletko in a prepared statement, “while also showing our commitment to growing our offerings and our business. Over the last few years, we’ve laid down thousands of barrels in our expanded facilities and look forward to quenching the thirst of Few fans for decades to come.

“And, of course, we’ll continue to release bottled-in-bond products as well as new, innovative, and sometimes quirky releases that Few has become known for producing.”
Plans call for the equivalent of 1,200 initial cases to be released starting this month, with each 750 ml bottle pricing at $50. It will be made available in AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MD, MN, NY, TX and WI.
Suggested to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, Few Rye Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond has limited official tasting notes of “black cherry, vanilla, undercurrents of marzipan and bold aromas of stone fruit and oak smoke.”
