Wild Turkey has released its Austin Nichols Archives Gold Foil Edition in Australia, marking the debut of the brand’s new collector-focused range. Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell will tour the country from 30 August to share the story behind the limited-edition bourbon.
The Gold Foil Edition is the first release in the Austin Nichols Archives Collection. It draws inspiration from the “Cheesy Gold Foil” bottlings that became sought-after among bourbon collectors.
Russell created the release as a tribute to one of the most revered bottles in Wild Turkey’s history.

“Austin Nichols Archives has been a labour of love, and I’m excited to finally share it with bourbon lovers everywhere,” said Bruce Russell, Associate Master Blender at Wild Turkey.
The collection has been more than a decade in the making. Russell conceived it as a way to reintroduce Wild Turkey’s iconic releases to modern drinkers.
“Gold Foil Edition was the perfect bourbon to launch the collection,” Russell said. “Inspired by a personal favourite of mine and of many Wild Turkey fans, I drew on everything I’ve learned from my father and grandfather to create a whiskey that honours the Wild Turkey legacy.”

READ THE STORYThe bourbon is made from 16-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon barrels sourced from Wild Turkey’s Camp Nelson rickhouses. It is bottled at 120 proof.
According to the official notes from the brand, the bourbon delivers “rich notes of dark fruit, mature oak, cherry cola, clove and Wild Turkey’s signature character.”
The bottle is housed in a premium canister featuring an autumn hunting scene and gold foil detailing. The design references the original release and Wild Turkey’s hunting heritage.
Only 4,161 bottles have been produced. Australian availability began on 20 August, with a recommended retail price of AUD $499.
Russell’s Australian tour includes meet-and-greet events in Melbourne on 30 August, Brisbane on 3 September and Sydney on 6 September. A VIP event in Sydney on 4 September is available to competition winners only.
