Vikki Bruce, Managing Director of whisky specialist MacLean & Bruce, was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich at the Society’s 70th Ceremony and Banquet at Blair Castle on October 13.
The honor recognizes Bruce’s contributions to the Scotch whisky industry since establishing MacLean & Bruce in 2013 with Charles MacLean MBE.

The Keepers of the Quaich was established by the Scotch whisky industry to recognize outstanding commitment to the production, promotion or protection of Scotch. More than 3,000 people from over 100 countries have received the honor since the Society’s foundation.
“Becoming a Keeper of the Quaich is a great honor, made even more meaningful by my family’s connections with the Society,” Bruce said after the ceremony.

Bruce’s induction continues a family tradition within the Society. Her father-in-law, Andrew Bruce, 11th Earl of Elgin, served as Grand Master and introduced song and performance to the ceremonies. Her brother-in-law, Charles, Lord Bruce, currently holds the Grand Master role.
Her husband Alex Bruce, MD of Adelphi Selection and Ardnamurchan Distillery, is a Master of the Quaich. Business partner Charles MacLean MBE also holds Master status.
Aristotelis Baroutsis, Chair of the Society, noted that 48 new Keepers from 17 countries were inducted at the ceremony.
“This demonstrates the continued popularity of Scotch Whisky,” Baroutsis commented.
The Keepers of the Quaich requires nominees to have at least seven years of industry experience. Candidates must be nominated by existing Keepers, Masters, Founding Partners, Member Companies or International Chapter officers.
