Tormore distillery has unveiled three limited single-cask expressions spanning nearly a decade of production, marking its first vintage releases under Elixir Distillers’ stewardship.
Tormore, which is also known as the “Pearl of Speyside” has announced the Legacy Series, a pre-release collection featuring hand-selected single casks from 2003, 2009, and 2012. The bottlings arrive ahead of the distillery’s first permanent core range, scheduled for 2026.

Three Decades of Tormore Heritage
The Legacy Series showcases Tormore’s evolution across three distinct production years. Each cask-strength bottling highlights what Distillery Manager Polly Logan describes as the “Tormore DNA.”
“These Legacy single casks exhibit some of the wonderful Tormore spirit from before Elixir bought the distillery. They all showcase what we call the ‘Tormore DNA’: glorious fruits – peaches and pears in particular – and a full, rounded palate akin to a peach pie with buttery pastry,” Logan said.
The 2009 release comprises six first-fill bourbon casks and offers fresh baked biscuits and ripe peaches, priced at $129 (£94.95). The 2012 vintage, drawn from six first and second-fill bourbon casks, features lemon barley sugar and coconut biscuits at $102 (£74.95).
Elixir Distillers Charts New Course
Tormore Distillery gained new ownership in 2022 when Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, co-founders of The Whisky Exchange, acquired the Speyside facility through their company, Elixir Distillers. The acquisition marks a significant shift for the distillery, which has historically produced whisky primarily for blending.
The Legacy Series follows the recent Tormore Blueprint release, a trio of 10-year-old single malts that offered insight into the distillery’s future direction. Master Blender Oliver Chilton and Logan have been exploring existing cask inventory to understand the distillery’s evolving style over decades.
Each cask produces approximately 220 bottles, available globally from mid-July at specialist retailers. The release demonstrates Elixir Distillers’ commitment to preserving Tormore’s heritage while developing its potential as a single malt brand.
