The Macallan will open its first domestic boutique in the United Kingdom at Harrods in London this summer. The new retail space will house one of the most extensive ranges of the single malt Scotch whisky brand outside its Speyside estate, including rare and limited-edition expressions.
The boutique will occupy the space previously home to Harrods’ Baccarat Bar in the Knightsbridge department store. Its design draws on The Macallan’s “Nurtured by Nature” creative concept, reflecting the brand’s estate in Speyside.
The opening follows the unveiling of The Macallan Boutique at Heathrow Terminal 5 in 2025. It builds on the brand’s expanding global retail footprint.
Harrods is a world-famous luxury department store located in London, just south of Hyde Park and west of Buckingham Palace. Initially founded in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod, Harrods is the largest department store in Europe, spanning 1.1 million square feet. It is known for high-end fashion, food halls, exclusive Harrods-branded items, and celebrity clientele.
The Macallan and Harrods have a longstanding relationship. Previous activations at the department store included an interactive experience marking the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, for which The Macallan created a limited edition set of whiskies.
Jaume Ferras, creative director at The Macallan, said of the boutique plans: “Opening our new boutique at Harrods marks a major milestone for The Macallan, expanding our presence in London and building on our ambitions of delivering standout retail experiences for consumers across the globe.”
Ferras added: “Harrods’ status as the world’s leading luxury department retailer, together with our shared obsession for craftmanship and creativity, has allowed us to push boundaries and curate an incomparable retail experience. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests from across London and beyond, and immersing them into the world of The Macallan.”
Andre Lewis, head of buying for food, wine, and spirit at Harrods, said: “We are thrilled to deepen our long standing relationship with The Macallan through the opening of this exceptional new boutique at Harrods.”
Lewis continued: “Our customers come to us in search of the world’s finest craftsmanship and most compelling luxury experiences, and The Macallan consistently delivers both. This boutique will offer an extraordinary opportunity to sample and purchase some of the rarest and most celebrated single malts, brought to life through a space that beautifully captures the spirit of the Speyside Estate.”
He added: “We look forward to welcoming whisky connoisseurs and curious visitors alike to discover this remarkable destination within our store.”
The Macallan is owned by Edrington, the Scottish spirits group headquartered in Glasgow. The brand’s single malt Scotch whisky regularly commands some of the highest prices at auction, cementing its position as one of the world’s most valuable whisky brands.
