The Macallan has debuted “Drink of a Generation,” a new cinematic social campaign for its Sherry Oak 25 and 30 Years Old expressions, featuring actor James Marsden alongside his son, Jack Marsden. The campaign uses the decades-long maturation process of the ultra-aged whiskies as a bridge between generations. You can watch the film here.

The initiative centers on a hero film depicting a “generational handover” between the father-and-son duo, celebrating shared heritage, craft, and the passage of time.

Alongside the Marsdens, the campaign features partnerships with digital creators Vince Garica, a barber and groomer; Stella Simona, a jewelry designer; and Justin Boone, a stylist. Each creator highlights their personal journey toward mastery, drawing parallels to The Macallan’s whisky-making process.

To mark the launch, The Macallan hosted James and Jack Marsden, along with tastemakers and influencers, at the brand’s Los Angeles villa.

The campaign arrives as Gen Z spending is forecast to account for 30% of the luxury market by 2030, according to the Altrata World Ultra Wealth Report 2025. The Macallan positions the effort as a way to bridge heritage prestige with the next generation of consumers.

According to the brand, two centuries of patience and craft define The Macallan’s legacy. By using the aging cycle of the Sherry Oak 25 and 30 Years Old expressions as a physical bridge between a father and son, the campaign honors that legacy and celebrates how mastery is passed down through generations.
