The Macallan unveils Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release celebrating James Bond film legacy, on sale by ballot now and in global retail from 5th March.
The Macallan has launched a new limited edition single malt Scotch whisky commemorating 55 years since the iconic James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever premiered. The expression, crafted by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, draws inspiration from the film’s plot elements including Bond’s expertise in sherry and red wine.

Distilled in 2007 and aged for 18 years, the whisky employs an innovative cask selection that mirrors key moments from the film.
The maturation process utilizes bespoke hybrid casks crafted from sherry seasoned European and American oak, alongside casks made from American oak that previously held red wine.
“Like Bond himself, this whisky holds its secrets. It may appear dark and mysterious, yet on the palate it surprises with elegance and lightness,” said Russell Greig, The Macallan Whisky Maker.
“Each cask adds a layer to the story – a reflection of the film’s twists and turns, and a testament to the shared spirit of innovation that connects The Macallan and James Bond.”

The official tasting notes from the brand describe sophisticated aromas of sweet polished oak, vanilla bean and rich dried fruits on the nose.
The palate reveals smooth layers of creamy vanilla and caramel, with hints of cocoa powder coated champagne truffles, coffee, and dried fruits including figs, berries and apricots.
Subtle spices create complexity, leading to a long, refined finish with lingering warmth.
Bottled at 45.5% ABV, the whisky’s natural color evokes the red and orange Aztec sandstone of Nevada’s desert surrounding Las Vegas, a key filming location.
The bottle design draws directly from Diamonds Are Forever production art in the official Bond archives.
“The Macallan has a long standing connection with film and television, appearing in over 290 productions across the years,” noted Jaume Ferras, Creative Director at The Macallan.
“It is a privilege to honour the enduring legacy of James Bond on cinema, with stories and characters that continue to inspire audiences around the world.”
The release follows The Macallan’s previous James Bond 60th Anniversary Release in 2022, continuing the creative partnership between the luxury whisky brand and the film franchise.
The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release will be available via ballot through www.themacallan.com (closes 10 February 2026), at The Macallan Estate Boutique, and at Heathrow Airport between February 3 to 17, 2026, priced at $750 (£590).
Global retail availability follows from March 5, 2026, at selected retailers worldwide.
