The Dalmore has launched Cigar Malt Signature Reserve Aged 18 Years, a permanent five-cask single malt that joins its Principal Collection. The expression lands in the US from 1 November 2026, priced at $399.99, and sits above the long-established Cigar Malt Reserve.

The new whisky extends a range The Dalmore first introduced more than two decades ago. The brand describes it as “an elevated whisky choice for the cigar aficionado and whisky connoisseur alike.”

Like its predecessor, the 18-year-old features Cabernet Sauvignon barriques as part of its finish.

The liquid matures for an initial 16 years in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels. It is then finished in Matusalem Sherry Casks, French Oak Marsala Casks, French Oak Cabernet Franc Barriques, and French Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Barriques.

According to the brand, each cask plays a defining role. The ex-Bourbon barrels provide sweetness and lift, while the Matusalem Sherry Casks bring dried fruits and nutty richness.

The Marsala Casks introduce ginger warmth and spice. From the red wine casks, Cabernet Franc adds aromatic and savory complexity, while Cabernet Sauvignon raises tannin and structure.

The expression is bottled at 46% ABV, with natural color and no chill filtration. The brand says the strength allows the whisky to “retain the clarity and definition needed to refresh the palate between draws.”

Packaging comes in a scarlet gift carton that opens via a pull tab, designed for a premium unboxing experience.

The Dalmore is known for its multi-cask approach, led by master whisky maker Gregg Glass alongside master distiller Richard Paterson OBE. Paterson became master distiller of The Dalmore in 1975 at just 26 years old, and for 50 years he was the custodian of the brand.

The distillery is located in Alness, Scotland, 20 miles north of Inverness, on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle.

According to the official notes from the brand, the aroma offers chocolate orange, dried fig, and dark fruit, balanced with hints of aromatic oud and sandalwood. The palate delivers forest berries, sticky dates, orange marmalade, dark chocolate, and cinnamon spice, leading to a long finish layered with dark fruit, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
