Edinburgh-based bespoke whisky bottler Tailored Spirits Co. has reported its strongest year to date in 2025 and confirmed plans to expand its team and operations throughout 2026. The Leith-based company cited rising global demand for private-client whisky bottling experiences as a key driver of growth.

Tailored Spirits Co. works with private collectors, hospitality groups, and premium brands to source, mature, design, and bottle rare single-cask releases. Over the past year, the company has delivered commissions for clients in Singapore, the United States, and across Europe.

Rather than operating as a traditional independent bottler, the business positions itself as an “experience-led whisky partner”. Clients are guided through the full production journey, from cask selection through to finished bottle.

Adam Harding, co-founder and head of spirits, sales, and strategy, said: “We’re seeing green shoots of hope in whisky. While parts of the market have softened, interest in private-client bottlings remains strong. People don’t just want to buy whisky now — they want to be involved in creating something unique.”

“We position ourselves as the ‘Mansory of the whisky industry’ — taking something already revered as a special product and crafting a completely bespoke edition for each client, with the owner involved at every step,” Harding added.

The company provides end-to-end services under one roof, spanning cask sourcing — from new-make spirit to rare Scotch, as well as rum, cognac and tequila — through branding, short-run bottling and global delivery.

Such ownership experiences have seen a rise in popularity in recent years, with personalised items and experiences often sought after over straightforward retail purchases. At Tailored Spirits Co., clients work directly with the team on every aspect of the experience, often culminating in a private tasting.

Following its record year, the company has expanded its roster with several new hires. Rachel MacRae joined the project management and delivery team, award-winning creative specialist Hannah Sneddon came on board, and Ciara Hutchison Reid was appointed business development and private client manager. Further hires are planned.

Carl Johnstone, co-founder for commercial and operations, said: “We’re moving from being seen as a start-up to an established luxury player. The interest we’re seeing internationally shows that premium Scotch still holds strong appeal, particularly when it offers a personal story and experience.”

Founded in 2024 by Tom Costello, Carl Johnstone, and Adam Harding, Tailored Spirits Co. was created to bridge the gap between large-scale whisky production and private cask ownership. The company aims to double revenue in 2026 while continuing to grow its international client base.
